Places, where I find myself

Roseberry Topping – Teesside

My home town is Stockton on Tees. On a recent visit home I went for a walk and climbed the beautiful Roseberry Topping. It was also a beautiful sunny day. Possible the first day in 2013 where I experienced rays of sun on the back of my neck after the dark and wet winter.

The silence of memory: Salisbury

On frequent walks I often see these dedication plaques fixed to park benches. Yesterday I saw one that was dedicated to two people who had lost their lives when the Titanic sank. On the same walk I came across this one, which was equally profound.

The floods came to the south west and whilst Salisbury was not the worst hit by far the water left many impressions of just how vulnerable we all are when mother nature decides to wage her finger at us. I took these shots whilst out walking with Poppy. The lake in the first photograph is not supposed to be there – in fact since the rains stopped its not.

Brixton

Lambeth Town Hall. The foundation stone was laid on 21 July 1906, and the building was officially opened by King George V and Queen Mary (then Prince and Princess of Wales) on the 29 April, 1908. The total cost of the building was £48,000.

Portsmouth Harbour

It was late evening and the sun was falling and producing a beautiful yellow glow. I picked up the camera, pointed and pressed the button. Lowered the camera and carried on watching until darkness.
